How long have you been writing?
I’ve been writing for 4 years.

What inspired you to start writing?
I’ve always been a bit of an introvert, and I’ve found that spending time alone can be incredibly beneficial. It’s helped me become more focused, creative, and productive. I wrote ‘Mindful Isolation’ because I wanted to share these insights and encourage others to explore the potential benefits of solitude in their own lives.

Have you always wanted to be a writer?
Yes, I have.

If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
Why I haven’t started sooner.

What advice would you give a new writer, someone just starting out?
Read a lot in the genre you want to write in. Reading great works will help you understand what makes for excellent writing in that genre.

Pay attention to things like character development, plot structure, use of language, etc.

Write frequently and make it a habit. Set aside time each day to practice your craft, even if it’s just for 30 minutes. The more you write, the better you’ll get.

Don’t worry about writing a masterpiece on your first draft. Just get the words down and focus on getting your story out. You can revise and polish later.

Get feedback and learn to take criticism constructively. Join a writing group or find some trusted writer friends who can give you honest critiques.

Study the craft of writing through books, blogs, classes if possible. Learn about elements like plot, characterization, dialogue, setting, etc.
Be patient and keep going. Writing is a journey of continuous learning. Don’t get discouraged if your early works aren’t perfect. It takes time to develop your skills.

Read your work out loud to catch mistakes your eye might miss on the page.

Figure out your own unique perspective and writing voice. What stories are you passionate about telling?

Take breaks when you’re stuck to refresh your mind. But also push through writer’s block.

Celebrate your small victories and milestones along the way. Writing can be lonely, so give yourself credit.

The most important things are to write frequently, get feedback, study your craft, and persevere through the challenges. With dedication, your writing skills will continually improve.
