What inspired you to start writing?
It was my doctor that said if I don’t have someone to share how I am feeling inside with to let it out, I should write it down.
What was an early experience where you learned that language had power?
When I submitted my first poem to Hi5(old social media) and someone commented and said that the piece touched them deeply.
What does success mean to you? What is the definition of success?
Success is accomplishing my purpose. What God has put me and kept me upon this earth to do, when I have done it I will be successful.
What does literary success look like to you?
Literary success is writing all the books that I have inside of me so that the world can get help where neeeded.

What drew you to writing your preferred genre?
It’s what’s inside of me.
What is the most difficult part about writing for you?
Trying to not write what I want.
What is the most difficult part of your artistic process?
Releasing myself and my thoughts and allowing myself to be guided by the Holy Spirit to write with a connection for the audience.
How do you handle writer’s block?
Pray. Wait.
Do you view writing as a kind of spiritual practice?
Yes I do. It’s allowing myself to give way to be used as a vessel by the Holy Spirit to minister to someone or many individuals.

Young adult
How do you decide what to fictionalize when writing characters or a plot based on real events or experiences?
As led by the Holy Spirit

Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?
It’s a combination for me. To stand out but still be connected to tell my story.
How did publishing your first book change your process of writing?
Because I now know a part of the process and I am considering to start promoting before the book reached the final editing stage.
